For the cover design of this travel book, we selected a single image which embodies the carefree, adventurous ethos of the guide.
Aimed at a young, backpacking market less interested in the Eiffel Tower than the adventures they could get into on a European holiday, the image of leaping off the cliff on the Normandy coast towards the sea embraces the enthusiasm of life's adventures.
The handwritten font was selected to further the informal aim and unconventional destinations within the guide, moving away from the rigidity of a more serious guide.
The logo in the bottom right-hand corner links the France guide to other Off the Trail guides of Europe.
