Janis has used Cover&Layout to produce the marketing materials for her books, including the most recent, Unfinished Justice.

Author Janis Hutchinson is an award-winning author of both fiction and nonfiction. Awarded "Writer of the Year" (2008) by the American Christian Writers Association, she holds an M.A. in theology, and is in demand as a speaker on Christian radio and TV. She is also a frequent guest lecturer in Bible college classrooms, Christian conferences and local churches.

She made her first attempt at writing when she was twelve, but did not begin any serious writing until her thirties, and then it became her passion and began writing many magazine articles.

In 1994, after escaping from a cult that held her prisoner, Kregel Publications published her first book, Out of the Cults and into the Church: Understanding and encouraging ex-cultists, which filled a serious void in the Christian market. She soon gained the reputation as an expert on cult recovery and problems former cult members face when converting to traditional churches. She also served 12 years in the Institute of Religious Research’s mentoring program, counseling and mentoring those coming out of legalistic religions.

In 1995, her second book, The Mormon Missionaries: An inside look at their real message and methods, was published, with a second edition in 2011.

In 2016, she wrote a historical suspense novel, Unfinished Justice, inspired by a true story in which she took part.

She still writes many articles, which can be found on her blog at www.JanisHutchinsonBooks.com, and loves to hear from her readers at janishutchinson@comcast.net.

She lives near Seattle, Washington.
